{"id":1775,"date":"2020-08-13T11:56:36","date_gmt":"2020-08-13T01:56:36","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/wantirna.klac23.org.au\/wordpress\/?p=1775"},"modified":"2020-08-13T11:56:36","modified_gmt":"2020-08-13T01:56:36","slug":"international-athletics-world-tour-and-diamond-league-action-resumes","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/wantirna.klac23.org.au\/wordpress\/?p=1775","title":{"rendered":"International Athletics – World Tour and Diamond League action resumes"},"content":{"rendered":"\r\n\r\nIf you are missing athletics and looking for some inspiration, World Athletics is underway, with the World Tour and Diamond League resuming.\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nThe first Diamond League meeting that will resemble a regular top-flight international one-day meeting since the advent of the Covid-19 pandemic is this Friday 14th August.\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nEleven reigning world champions from around the globe are converging on Monaco this week for what shapes as the strongest fields for Friday night\u2019s meeting at Stade Louis II, which will have a reduced capacity of 5000 spectators to allow social distancing.\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nThe spotlight will be on middle-distance events which will feature the men\u2019s world champions over 800m (Donavan Brazier), 1500m (Timothy Cheruiyot), and 10,000m (Joshua Cheptegei) and the women\u2019s world champions over 800m (Hamilah Nakaayi), 1500m and 10,000m (Sifan Hassan), 5000m (Hellen Obiri) and 3000m steeplechase (Beatrice Chepkoech).\r\n\r\n \r\n

World record-holders Duplantis and Rojas set to soar<\/strong><\/h3>\r\n \r\n\r\nIn the field events, three of the sport\u2019s highest flyers will soar in the men\u2019s pole vault, where world record-holder Armand Duplantis will meet world champion Sam Kendricks and Olympic champion Thiago Braz.\r\n\r\n \r\n

Where it watch it<\/strong><\/h3>\r\n \r\n\r\nThe event will be steamed on Eurosport and the Diamond League YouTube channel.
